Dr Ruby Barrett

Dr Ruby Barrett is a content analyst with expertise in environmental data analysis, climate modelling, and science communication.

She holds a PhD in Climate Change and Ocean Science from the University of Bristol, where she explored how environmental change impacts marine ecosystems and carbon storage.

Before joining Climate News Tracker, Ruby worked at the UK’s Climate Change Committee, contributing to the 2023 Progress Report to Parliament by analysing climate data and translating it into accessible insights for policymakers and the public. She also trained as a Cabot Communicator with the Cabot Institute for the Environment, developing skills in engaging wider audiences with climate science.

Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the outdoors and cold-water swimming.
